Kimberly graduated from the University of Louisville School of Nursing in 2006, with honors, and as a member of the National Honor Society.
She began her nursing career working in a specialized critical care unit aimed at caring for Vascular and Thoracic patients. Eventually she transitioned into the role of charge nurse for that unit. After several years, transitioned over to care for Neurological patients in the Intensive Care Unit. She enjoyed acting as a preceptor for new graduates, undergraduates, and nurses taking on the challenge of the Intensive Care Unit. Eventually, she stepped into the position of relief charge, which at times required the management of emergency situations throughout the hospital.
Looking for a new direction in nursing, she accepted a position with Clinical Informatics. She learned about computer programs as they related to healthcare, helped reform nursing charting, tested new programs for efficiency, and educated doctors on Computer Order Entry. However, after a year, an opportunity arose in management. She moved on to managing night shift employees on a Neurological Oncology Medical Surgical Floor.
During her nursing career she has become certified in: Advanced Life Support, Basic Life Support, Chemotherapy, as well as completing the National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale.
Hoping to fulfill her goal, she began pursuing Legal Nurse Consultant positions. She began her employment with the Franklin Law Group in October 2013, assisting the attorneys with research, terminology, and acting as an active member of the legal team.
