Kelli began her nursing career in 1983 graduating from Indiana Vocational Technical College as an LPN at the age of 18. This was a goal she had as a young child when she began taking care of her diabetic grandmother. She moved to Connecticut and pursued employment in long-term care and the VA Hospital for ten years. In 1993, she obtained her diploma in nursing, graduating from St. Mary’s Hospital School of Nursing as valedictorian. She then moved back to Kentucky and worked as a staff nurse in the pediatric intensive care unit at Kosair Children’s Hospital until she was promoted to Cardiovascular Clinician and Heart Transplant Coordinator. She continued her education obtaining her bachelors in nursing science from Indiana Wesleyan University graduating Summa Cum Laude in 2011.
In 1998 she was asked by an attorney friend to review a medical malpractice case for merit. This sparked an interest in melding a solid background of pathophysiology and nursing with a legal team to work toward improving quality of life for injured patients. She has actively worked in the legal arena since then. Kelli has experience in risk management for a local large medical corporation and in insurance defense enabling her to assess both sides of a case and bring that knowledge to the legal team.
Kelli joined The Franklin Law Group in 2011 and after a short sabbatical returned in 2015. Her role here is primarily one of a teacher, educating the attorneys in disease processes and all facets of the healthcare system. She enjoys being part of the team working toward a common goal to help our clients.
